Ship–Infrastructure Cooperation: Survey on Infrastructure Scheduling for Waterborne Transportation Systems

نویسندگان

چکیده

Ship–infrastructure cooperation, i.e., infrastructure scheduling, is significant for optimizing the utilization of spatial-temporal resources infrastructures and improving efficiency safety waterborne transportation systems. This paper carries out a systematic review scheduling problems in systems, including locks, terminals, berths, waterway intersections. The are linked to classical optimization problems, generalized problem formulated. For lock ship placement sub-problem aims at minimizing number lockages, which kind classic 2D bin packing problem; lockage deals with chamber assignment operation planning, modeled as single or parallel machine problem. berth terminal idea queuing theory (for discrete terminal) continuous usually applied. Most research waiting time ships focuses on dynamic problems. As special infrastructure, intersection receives little attention. traffic conflicts capacity Future directions provided based results practice.

Scheduler-oriented algorithms to improve human-machine cooperation in transportation scheduling support systems

A decision support system designed to enhance human-machine interaction in transportation scheduling is proposed. We aim to integrate human factors and ergonomics from the beginning of the design phase and to propose a system fitted with enough flexibility to be able to deal with the characteristics of a dynamic context such as transportation scheduling. In this interdisciplinary approach, a li...

A Survey on Grid Scheduling Systems

Thanks to vast improvements in wide-area network performance and powerful yet low-cost computers, Grid computing has emerged as a promising attractive computing paradigm. Computational Grids aim to aggregate the power of heterogeneous, geographically distributed, multiple-domain-spanning computational resources to provide high performance or high-throughput computing. To achieve the promising p...

A Survey of Operating Systems Infrastructure for Embedded Systems

Since early applications in the 1960s, embedded systems have come down in price and there has been a dramatic rise in processing power and functionality. In addition, embedded systems are becoming increasingly complex. High-end devices, such as mobile phones, PDAs, entertainment devices, and set-top boxes, feature millions of lines of code with varying degrees of assurance of correctness. Nowad...

An Optimal Investment Scheduling Framework for Intelligent Transportation Systems Architecture

Transportation planning in general, and planning for intelligent transportation systems (ITSs) in particular, are notable for multiple goals and for multiple constituencies. A review of the current literature offers several ITS investment evaluation methods that provide frameworks for the quantification of risks and benefits. Nevertheless, the traditional selection methods overemphasize quantit...
